Skye Builders is a very courteous and very customer oriented company. Everyone we worked with at every step of the process is extremely friendly. We were able get a blueprint of our deck during our initial consultation so we knew what it would look like before they began and to send in to our HOA for approval. The project was within our budget and started/ended according to schedule. The quality and craftmanship of out deck was outstanding. Wayne Barber and his company Skye Builders have changed my life. Back in 2000-2001 I contracted with Mr. Barber to re-model the kitchen in our 100-year-old townhouse in Adams-Morgan. Initially my wife and I wanted just a few small changes. Inevitably, the project grew to include new cabinets, an Italian tile floor, granite counter-tops and French doors. The kitchen is fabulous—where once it was a cramped, rather gloomy room, it is now the most occupied room in the house
Wayne was patient, meticulous and hard-working. He cheerfully and miraculously got the job done on time. We so missed having him around the house, that three years later we asked him to install a powder room on the first floor. He helped to design this small bathroom. His carpentry skills made it appear that this bathroom had always existed under the first-floor stairwell. The wood-work just blended naturally into the space.
More recently, we have contracted with Skye Builders to have Mr. Barber completely renovate the third floor of our townhouse. We are going to triple the size of the current bathroom and build a substantial walk-in closet. We wouldn’t do this project without Wayne. We have the utmost confidence in Wayne Barber. He has a rare common sense and good judgment. He is honest and fair in his assessments and a pleasure to work with.

We are absolutely delighted with this very professional job.
Wayne and Skye Builders did a fabulous job for us – they took down the 20-year old deck, and built a new one, with a pergola, and also installed French doors and a glass transom. We worked on the design with them, and they went through the whole hassle of getting a DC permit. The deck looks magnificent – in fact it is far better built than the house itself. The doors and the transom look really fine, and the trim and finishing is beautiful. All the team were friendly and polite, and they did a great clean up. We had heard all the usual horror stories about contractors, but we are absolutely delighted with this very professional job.
